How to handle multiple client locations

Many times, clients will have multiple locations or properties associated with them. Hudu has two main ways of handling them: Parent/Child Relationships, and The Asset Layout Method.

First method: Parent/Child Relationships

How to use

  1. Go to a child company that you want to associate a parent with
  2. Click the Edit button
  3. In the Parent Client field, search for the parent client you would like to associate it with.
  4. Click the Save button

Situations it is best used for

This method is best when the data between clients is very loosely associated. For example, if you have a client that is a franchise where most of the data between locations (computers, people, networks) are completely separate and unique.

Second method: The Asset Layout Method

How to use

  1. Go to the Hudu Admin
  2. Go to Assets
  3. Create a new Asset Layout called Locations (or Sites).
  4. Add a few fields like Address, Primary Contact, Site Description
  5. Turn off passwords and files in the Edit Asset Layout option
  6. In each company, create a few locations with names and addresses like:
    1. Primary Location
    2. Secondary Location
    3. Branch off Elizabeth Street
    4. Location #4
  7. Tag assets or use relationships to associate info with each site/location.

Situations it is best used for

This method is best when the data between clients is very tightly associated. For example, if you have a client with multiple locations that share the same computers, people, networks, devices, etc.
